I am the Chairman of Blood Cancer UK,Southend Branch. This began in 2000 when I rode in the Southend Bikeathon to raise money for the charity.

Another role that I enjoy is as a National Observer for Chelmsford Advanced Motorists (Institute of Advanced Motorists IAM RoadSmart).

I spend quite a bit of my time looking after the Churchyard of Holy Trinity Church in Rayleigh as well as researching into the history of its residents.

I love the ability the internet gives us to inform, communicate and record history

One of my hobbies is flying and taking aerial photos, mainly of Essex.
